1 Groups of Candidates Short Service Regular Commission (General Duty Medical Officer, Specialist, Army Dental Corps, Armed Forces Nursing Services) and Lady Cadet Course
2 Height 152.4
3 Body Mass Index ► 17-23. Local board may accommodate Body Mass Index from 16 – 24.
► Complete medical examination of candidates will be conducted even if Body Mass Index is higher than the required standards.
► Appeal Medical Board will examination the candidates Physical.
► Standards system of Body Mass Index should continue till the study on Body Composition Analysis verses Body Mass Index is finalized by House of Department Rehab Medicine, Combined Medical Hospital Rawalpindi.
4 Carrying Angle 5 – 22 degree
5 Elbow Extension (Cubitus Recurvatum) ► 0 – 15 degree: Multiple joint laxity must be absent
6 Calcaneal Pitch Angle(Pes Planus/ Cavus) ► Pes Planus:
If arch appears when one stands on toes and there is no calcaneal rotation then then it is flexible flat feet and is fit.
If the arch appearance remains the same on standing on toes or there is planter tenderness then it is rigid flat feet. This has a major potential to cause pain and fractures and is unfit.


► No need to measure angles for flat feet.
Pes Cavus: Recommended max angle 32 degree. Excess angles produce foot hump and this deformity prevents foot function or wearing military footwear, and can cause foot ulcers also.

7 Hallux Angle (Hallux Valgus) 10 – 17 degree: However, there should be no bunion, callosity or metatarsus primus varus or toe over ride as then it is a progressive deformity. Angles excess than 17 degree lead to toe over ride and which leads to progressive aggravation of deformity.
8 Extension Knee (Genu Recurvatum) 0 – 5 degree: Mandatory to excluding multiple joint hyperiaxity
Special to examination the candidate as a whole in his concerned domain.
Two to three months training to Regimental Medical Officers of Army Selection and Recruitment Centers/ Army Selection and Recruitment Offices be imparted in conducting medical examination of candidates.
Training regular instructions be issued to Military Colleges for modification of training activities.
Medical examination documents of the candidates must be with attested photo ID.
